Angelina Jolie in Lampedusa visits immigrants from Africa

U.S. actress Angelina Jolie has traveled to Lampedusa, where he visited the immigrants arriving in boats from North Africa, especially from Libya. The actress, who also participated in a ceremony of remembrance to immigrants who have been shipwrecked in the Mediterranean, arrived at Lampedusa at around 14.00 local time on a private plane from Malta.


On the agenda of the visit also was Jolie's first visit to the reception of immigrants from the island and the old Loran base, which currently houses about 300 children arrived on Lampedusa.
Jolie also said "the world need more tolerance" and thanked the Italian and the people of Lampedusa for having "kept the borders open."
