Rejection of the candidacy of Carl Lewis in the U.S. Senate

Aged 49, Carl Lewis, nine-time gold medalist at the Olympics, announced his candidacy for senator from New Jersey Democrats in the colors on June 7 He planned to run against incumbent Republican Senator Dawn Addiego in this Republican stronghold located about forty miles east of Philadelphia.
