Amy Winehouse hit number one in sales in the UK with 'Back To Black'

After the shock of his death on 23 July, followed by British singer award-winning massively bought "Black to Black 'at the top of the list and repeat the success he had at the time of its launch in 2006. Meanwhile, his musical debut, "Frank", reached number five this week, well ahead of what we achieved in 2005 when it was released and reached number 13 in the list of best sellers.

i Amy Winehouse, who died at age 27 at his home in London, has placed individually his two top five most purchased, the compilation of these, presented in a single housing, called "Frank / Black to Black ", entered this week at number 10 on the list. For Gennaro Castelo, music chain HMVs this posthumous success is no surprise, since the demand after learning of the death of the singer was "huge", while his records were sold out and had to replace them.


"Some people have downloaded your music online, but most wanted to buy the CD, perhaps because it is a way of feeling more tangible connection with Amy and her music, something we usually see when an artist dies sadly" explained.
