Death of jazzman George Shearing:

Born blind, Shearing became in the history of jazz two years after his arrival in the United States, after a huge success in England. His first major success was the September cover of the song in the Rain, released in 1947. His biggest hit, Lullaby of Birdland, which he composed in ten minutes was released in 1952.

With this title he has definitely entered the jazz legend. He has since remained active until the 80s when he retired from the stage some time. He returned in 2004 with unnouvel album Lullabies of Birdland. That same year he was hospitalized following a bad fall. He said the ideal recipe for being a good musician was "a good audience, a good piano, a good feeling, which is not every day the lot of everyone." The Jazz lost yesterday one of its greatest exponents.

He died at 91 years after congestive heart failure.
